What are you doing Krizia? #2

I've tasted the sweet victory of college graduation, and the reality of adulthood is rearing its ugly head into my everyday thoughts. I think of the debt I have accrued with my diploma, of the careers I want to pursue, and of the creative projects I have outlined in my journals and planners. These next months will be floating between New York, Philadelphia, and Pittsburgh— I’m set on following my creative intuition and aim to establish a sort of digital nomad lifestyle. In April, I publish and began selling my very first chapbook, Dominicana Americana. The book received its first review on Goodreads, and hopefully after the Zine Fest at the Lit Exhibit (occurring in Brooklyn, on June 8th) more can follow. I had the vision of expanding on the subject matter and producing a full collection of poetry, prose, and illustrations— I have this planned to be released in September. I began my bookbinding training because my ultimate goal with Ofrendas Press is to produce handmade books and give a personalized relationship between us the publisher and them the customer and supporter. So far, I’ve made countless chapbooks, and I am pretty proud of my saddle-stitch-binding technique. It is therapeutic and very similar to the ASMR-induced brain tingles.

My last official school break is here. Some of my summer plans include:

Attending Book Con next week, the Lit Exhibit and the Zine Fest, my sorority sister’s and my cousin’s wedding, Disney World and Universal Studio with my partner and his family, and most importantly writing, painting, and overall, being creative in every way possible. I’m beginning to offer my services with editorial, design, and content writing. I have a quick turn around with completion within a month, depending on the project.

Until next time,

XO
