Hello everyone!
The weather has dropped to range between the 60s and 70s, and I couldn't be happier. It's autumn and university is riding at top speed. This is my 5th year at Pitt, and I've been promised a guaranteed graduation ticket at the end of the year.
This summer I didn't do as much traveling as I have done in previous years due to financial matters, a.k.a I didn't have a job. But luckily I was able to visit my boyfriend, J, each month and I made great memories with him. Such as, my first time camping with friends, attending J's family cookout, and exploring ramen shops in St. Marks and Astor Place.
I began a web development project to create my personal website from scratch. I'm using my knowledge of HTML, CSS, and Javascript. My brand, TinyBlueBackpack, is being revamped and renamed, expect to see a post detailing this transformation soon! This is the first project of its kind and I can already see that it's going to take me forever to complete it.
Pitt has promised me a graduation ticket for December, but I made an executive decision to retake courses in the Spring so my GPA will increase and I have a better chance at being accepted for a fully funded MFA program. I am in full force in the admissions process beginning with researching schools and programs.

I am the culture editor for the new Watermelanin Magazine, and I am so in love with this opportunity. As editor I want to open the gate for marginalized people, especially afro-latinas like me, to have their words be published and for the world to read. I want to provide feedback to accepted and rejected submissions because we are all learning new things and receiving feedback on what is good and what might need extra love and attention will help everyone grow as a writer.
